Dignity Day at St Wilfrid's
Wednesday, 3rd March 2010
To celebrate the NHS 'Dignity Day' Staff and clients of St Wilfrid's held a special 'Praise and Grumble' session at the Centre with the main theme being around 'dignity'.
The clients were asked if they were treated with dignity at the Centre regardless of their difficulties and the unanimous view by them was that they felt respected and cared for in every way. Praise was given to staff members who run the educational classes and thanks also to all the volunteers who make the work of St Wilfrid's possible. Thankfully few grumbles were received on the day and perhaps the only big one was that we are not open 7 days a week. There's only one St Wilfrid's Centre.
A 'praise and grumble' session is held every 2 months at the Centre where clients are invited to say how they feel about the Centre - what they think is good and what they think could be improved upon. The discussions are often very lively and many things have come out of the sessions that have helped us improve the services that we offer to the vulnerable.
