I’M EXCITED TO JOIN ST WILFRID’S CENTRE. Thank you for giving me such a warm welcome. I’ve spent the last five years working for the national charity for homelessness, Crisis. Two of those years were spent working in a day centre in Oxford which was formerly a fire station. The past three years I helped set up and run an outreach programme for Crisis across South Yorkshire. I have taught literacy in London prisons and been Head of Education at an open prison and will use all my skills and experiences to lead St Wilfrid’s.
I have a huge passion for adult learning and development and know that personal change and progression comes from small steps—often via fun engagement activities—in a place where people feel safe and valued. I will use my wealth of contacts and networks on a local and national level to benefit all who come to the Centre.
The residential project is almost complete and I am committed to its ongoing success. My predecessor, Kevin, was a vibrant and dedicated member of the St Wilfrid’s community and I hope to be a similarly passionate Director of this successful hub of activity.
