Partial Re-opening of St Wilfrid's Centre

Well we are all geared up to open to a number of clients on Monday 3rd August, however it is having to be in a very controlled way to follow strict Covid 19 safety measures.

We have invited the 95 clients that normally attend groups to come for specific sessions only, as we are having to limit client numbers to a maximum of 8 in hall, 4 on Mezzanine and 4 in the workshop, a maximum of 16 clients in the building for each of the morning and afternoon sessions to allow for social distancing. The clients will remain in these groups throughout their sessions, including breaks, to minimise the number of people they are in contact with. This is a reason we are not using volunteers in the Centre as yet.

Morning sessions are from 10.00am to 12.30pm with refreshments & sandwich lunch provided free of charge. The Centre will then close for cleaning and staff break. Afternoon sessions run from 2.00pm to 4.00pm with refreshments provided again free of charge.

We are not able to use our minibus, but are running our allotment, photography and nature walking groups outside the Centre.

As throughout lockdown we are still going to provide outreach (telephone calls, activity packs, newsletter, small ‘meet ups’ in parks etc.) to all our other established clients that we can't accommodate at the Centre as yet.

We will continue to support self-referrals (rough sleepers) with food, showers, clothes and signposting/advice within the times we're open. We don't have the capacity to support individuals that are already known to the rough sleeper service, we know are accommodated and have access to food, but we will support new clients and our clients who ‘sofa surf’. We will also continue to provide emergency food parcels.
