October 21 - DAY 150!! - Love is life's end, but never ending. Love is life's wealth, never spent, but ever spending. Love's life's reward, rewarded in rewarding. Herbert Spencer

Well we did it - together! 4500 miles completed. I will let everyone know the final total raised but think it will now be over £5500. The welcome I received when I arrived at the Centre today was amazing. clients, staff, volunteers and supporters all cheered me loudly as I rode through the gates and I was so pleased to see Monsignor Kilgannon there as well. After all my cycle ride seemed nothing compared to the dedication he has given to the Centre for the past 30 years. Jeff followed me all the way there to check there were no final mishaps and I received encouragement and thumbs up from great supporters on the journey. The Star photographer arrived just after everyone had gone inside so we had to get everyone out again for another cheer.

I will continue a blog (but probably not every day!) to keep you informed of what happens at the Centre and try to include a few pictures as well. In the meantime, all that is left to say is a massive thank you to everyone who has sponsored me and/or supported me throughout the last 150 days. Today, with the sunshine, was a great way to end but if the challenge has any remaining significance, it is so that we can all remember that dark and cold days, both physical and metaphorical, are felt by many and we all have a duty to make sure we can add warmth and light to people’s lives. St Wilfrid’s Centre has managed to do that for the past 30 years and I hope that through my challenge, I have highlighted the need for us all to ensure that the light and warmth continues to be shared for another 30 years - at least. Thank you so much.
