September 29 - Day 137 (136.5) - 'Be thou the rainbow in the storms of life. The evening beam that smiles the clouds away.' Byron

Before I talk about today, I am continuing my pathetic appeal for sympathy by mentioning yesterday evening. Not only was I completely drenched when I got home but I was freezing cold. I couldn’t work out as I peeled off the layers of very soggy clothes which parts of my body I could still feel - very few it seemed. Luckily, I have a tip for anyone with a partner to ensure they love you forever - just, on greeting them in such circumstances, speak those three important words (or instead, I should say more than three words) - “I’ve run a hot bath for you” It’s guaranteed to win enough brownie points to last for many years - believe me!

This morning was much better - but cold - and I think I might be charging my electric socks ready for action over the weekend. I did stop to take the picture of the rainbow as the colours of it and the landscape were intriguing. I couldn’t get both ends in the picture so took two separate ones. The sun did come out but with biting temperatures and very ominous clouds, I was very glad to arrive at work today to be greeted by Keith opening the door with a smile, as he does each morning.

To end, my interesting, or more often useless, fact about today in history is very much linked. It’s hard to imagine that exactly ten years ago in 2011 on September 29, we were experienced record-breaking temperatures of 29° C.
