A Christmas message from St Wilfrid’s new Director – Wayne Hoyle
I have now been immersed in the unique world of St Wilfrid's for just over two months and was fortunate enough, at the beginning of this time, to complete a handover with the previous Director, Josie Brooks. Since then, I have been enjoying getting to know the staff, volunteers and, of course, our clients.
I have also been meeting with some of our key partners and stakeholders so that we can collectively start to think about the Centre's strategy for its future and ensure it is around for another 30 years. Although it is an uncertain and challenging climate for charities, I am struck by St Wilfrid's impressive heritage and history - this coupled with its excellent reputation and army of dedicated volunteers, puts us in a fantastic position to continue to deliver quality support services to some of the most vulnerable adults in the city.
Christmas is a really important and often difficult time for our clients, so the whole team are putting enormous effort into scheduling a series of festive events and activities that will culminate in our annual Christmas party where will be lots of surprises and special guests.
Once we're recovered in the New Year, we will be reviewing how we operate in order to further develop our offer. This will be undertaken closely in conjunction with everybody who is involved with the Centre. If you have any particular feedback or ideas about what we do at present or what we could do in the future, please get in touch.
From everyone here at St Wilfrid’s we thank you for your continued support of the Centre and all that we do. We look forward to welcoming new clients and volunteers in 2019 and wish everyone a very happy festive break.
